It feels like I'm floating. I feel so light. There's no responsibility on my shoulders, there's no pain, no suffering. Just... calm. I stand in the middle of the Field of Reeds. The sound of the quiet is liberating. Everything just feels right. It's exactly what I've always wanted. Peace.
To be at peace is a beautiful thing. Almost too beautiful to believe. A complete sense of being at ease. Being at peace can mean something different to every individual as I have come to learn.
For most, being at peace means being alone for a while. Having a relaxing bath, maybe getting away for a few hours or going on holiday. But for some, being at peace can mean just a moment of silence in their mind. For most, peace comes easily and without work. For some, peace is hard to achieve. But in the end, everyone finds their peace in one way or another.
I look around at my place in the Field of Reeds. Meeting a set of eyes I didn't think I'd see again.
"Am I dead?" I ask. The sight of my sister makes me wonder.
Her lips curl upwards a little. "Not quite" she replies.
"Am I dreaming?" I ask, more confused than I was before.
"I'm not sure" Josie answers.
Seeing my dead sister in front of me, while not being dead myself makes me belief this is all a lie. A fixture of my imagination. But nonetheless, my sisters stands in front of me, a smile on her lips.
"They're waiting for you" she says, "Marc. Steven. Jake. Mum"
"I wish you were still with us" I tell her.
"So do I" she admits, "but I like it here"
"Me too" I agree. Everything seems to simple here.
"I still love you Jasmine" Josie says, "for infinity"
I smile. "For infinity. I didn't lie"
"I know you didn't"
"Josie. There's something I need to tell you" I say, taking a step closer to her. "Even if this is a lie, an illusion. There is something I must say. You saved me Josie, multiple times and that I cannot repay. You gave me hope that my life has a purpose. You taught me how to make sacrifices. You made me feel loved even when that idea seemed impossible. You made me happy. Even though our time together was short. I will never be ale to thank you enough for everything you did for me. Thank you Josie, for our little infinity"
She smiles. A soft, caring miles. Tears brimming her eyes.
"I'll be waiting for you Jasmine, with dad" she says, holding out her hand. "Go and enjoy your freedom"
I reach out, my finger tips brushing her's as once again, I say goodbye.

Jasmine's eyes flutter open. A dull ache over her body. A heaviness on her eyelids.
Her eyes are met by a bright white light above her. For a moment she believes she's seeing the gateway to heaven, if there is such a thing, until her eyes begin to focus.
She recognises the tiles of a hospital room above her. For a moment, she panics. Before she feels something. Turning her head, relief floods through her.
At her side, his hand in hers and his head rested against their joined hands is Marc, Steven and Jake. Fast asleep with a blanket over his shoulders.
She smiles at him for a few moments. He looks content, although his brows are knitted together in what appears to be worry.
She begins to wake up her body. She has no idea how long she's been here but every part of her feels heavy. She works her way up her body until she ends with a slight squeeze to Marc, Steven and Jake's hand.
Even this slight movement is enough to wake him. He raises is head, his eyes drooped like he's half-asleep. The look on his face makes Jasmine think he believes he's dreaming, so she gives his hand another squeeze. His eyes widen in what appears to be disbelief, staying trained on their joined hands.
"Hello pretty boy" Jasmine says quietly. His eyes snapping up to hers. A smile begins to grown on his face.
"Oh my god" he says, tears starting to form in his eyes. "You're awake, you're awake!"
"I am?" Jasmine chuckles, a little confused. But she doesn't hesitate to hug him back when he leans against her.
He pulls back, his hands staying on her. Moving from her sides to her face.
"You're actually awake" he says. His voice cracking as it fills with joy and tears alike. Tears being to pour down his face.
"Darling? Are you okay?" Jasmine says, suddenly becoming worried. Her question is answers when he kisses her. His kiss shocks her somewhat. It's like he's put every ounce of love into it.
"I love you so much. I love you I love you I love you" he repeats. His accent changing between Marc, Steven and Jake as they all speak their line.
"I love you too" she says, placing her hands on either side of his face. Her thumb brushing the tears away from his cheeks. "Darling, you have to tell me what's going on" she says, a nervous chuckle leaving her mouth.
"Oh! Oh my god, sorry" Steven says.
"Doctor first, they need to check on you. Then I'll explain everything I promise" Marc says. He places another lingering kiss on Jasmine's lips before practically running out the room.
Usually, Jasmine would point blank refuse to see a doctor. Or even be in a hospital for that matter. But right now, she just feels a strange sense of calmness. Like she's accepted her past. Accepted what happened to her and not every doctor and hospital is like that. When Marc, Steven and Jake return to the room only moments after, she feels safer than she ever has.
The doctor moves around Jasmine. They listen to her heartbeat, check her breathing and check how her broken bones are healing. Then finally, they take her for a brain scan.
She now sits in the same hospital room, waiting for the results. Marc, Steven and Jake sit beside her. Their leg bouncing and he chews nervously on his lip. His fingers fidgeting continuously.
Jasmine reaches out. Sliding her hand between both of his. He immediately takes her hand, stopping his leg from bouncing. He holds her hand between both of his, his hands warm compared to hers. He brings her hand up, resting his forehead against them.
"I love you" she whispers reassuringly.
The doctor told her that she suffered trauma to her brain after hitting a wall. It caused her mind to shut down basically and she fell into a coma. She was like this for weeks, nobody knowing if she would actually wake up. She looks at the man beside her. He has dark bags under his eyes from lack of sleep. His cheeks look a little hollower than usual and there's the unmistakable look of someone who witnessed their loved one almost die. She can't even begin to imagine how awful those few weeks must have been for him. Having to sit here at her side not knowing if she would ever wake up again. She knows how bad the couple hours of thinking he was dead was, and she had a distraction.
When the doctor returns, he informs them that it's a medical miracle. That Jasmine's brain has healed quickly for the damage that was done and she can be released tomorrow. They just want to keep her in for the night to make sure everything is okay, but she doesn't mind.
When they leave, after a few happy tears from Marc, Steven and Jake, Steven rings Jasmine's mum. He tells her that she's been staying in a hotel around here, waiting for her to wake up.
When he gets off the phone, he finally explains everything.
They where all stood outside the building when the explosion happened. They heard it before they saw it, so they knew Jasmine succeeded. But as the building started to collapse and there was no sign of Jasmine they got worried. They all just stood, staring at the door completely frozen to the spot. He said it was the longest minute of his life before Jasmine came running through the door. He tells her she collapsed just before he got to her. But he quickly got her away from the building. Everyone thought she was dead but they could feel her heartbeat, except it was very weak.
They rushed her to hospital where they did an operation and then she fell into the coma. Ever since then they've just been waiting.
He tells her Reece was put into custody and his trail was the other day. He was found guilty and sentenced to life in the raft prison without parole.
When he's finished explaining, Jasmine's mum comes running into the room. Already crying. The first thing she does is hug her, still crying. Jasmine hugs her back, starting to cry herself.
Jasmine explains to them what happened with her. Telling them the whole story and showing them her magic is back. But when her story is finished, she knows there's still something she needs to tell her mum. Only she's afraid of the answer.
"Mum. I have to tell you something" Jasmine says. She glances at Marc, Steven and Jake who give her a knowing look. Staying quiet. His hand stays in hers. They haven't let go on one another since she took his hand. She doesn't think he ever plans on letting go. His thumb gently brushing the back of her hand, covering her hand with both of his.
"Anything" her mother replies, looking straight at Jasmine.
Jasmine looks down, unable to keep eye contact with her mum as tears fill her eyes again. "Josie..." she only manages to get out.
"I know, Jasmine" she says, "I know what happened. Your dad did too. It's not your fault. We don't blame you. I don't blame you at all, you couldn't control it we know that. I still love you, no matter what. That's what I'm here for Jas, that's what parents are here for"
A tear slips from Jasmine's eye as her mum leans forwards. Encasing her in another hug. And then she pulls Marc, Steven and Jake into the hug as well. All of them crying a little. Jasmine finally accepting who she is and who she has been. What she's done and what she hasn't. After all, everything happens for a reason.
She stays here, wrapped in the embrace of those who love her. Never wanting to let go.

In the morning, Jasmine changes from her hospital gown and into some clothes Steven brought for her. Marc, Steven and Jake stayed with her last night, not once leaving her or letting go of her hand. He only let go because Jasmine made him go fetch her some clothes because she didn't want to walk out of here in a hospital gown. Her mum came again this morning too while Marc, Seven and Jake were gone, checking everything was okay, which it was. When Jasmine's release time came around, her mother left. She told them they should have the day to themselves, to enjoy it. She also looks as if she has something planned.
She checks out at the reception before walking out the doors. She rips off her hospital bracelet and throws it in the bin.
"Where to now?" Jasmine asks.
"We go home" Marc smiles at her, squeezing her hand.
They climb into a car, which apparently Jake owns since he won't stop bragging about it while they drive. It makes Jasmine wonder how she never properly met Jake before.
Jasmine ends up napping on the way there, being in a coma is surprisingly tiring.
When she wakes up, she has no idea where they are. They aren't at their apartment block and their certainly aren't in London. The air smells fresh and cool. The area around them appears to be a countryside village.
She follows Jake's lead and gets out the car once he's stopped, waking to his side as he stares at house in the village they were driving through.
"Beautiful isn't it?" Steven asks.
"Yeah it is" Jasmine agrees, "but why are we here? I thought we were going home?"
He looks over at her, a smile on his face. "We are home" Marc says. He's wearing that smile again. The one that's reserved for Jasmine only.
She looks at the house, and then back at Marc.
"You bought a house?!" She says in shock.
"I bought a house" Jake confirms.
Jasmine's mouth hands agape as she looks between him and the house.
"That's not even the best part. Your mum and my dad are both moving into the next village along" Marc says, "so we can have Friday night dinners with them, having those movie nights. Have the family Friday night we always talked about" he says, the smile still plastered to his face.
"Oh my god" she says in disbelief.
"Is that a good 'oh my god' or a bad one?" Steven asks.
"Good. Definitely good" Jasmine replies nodding. She looks back at him, there's nothing but love in his eyes.
"What do you say?" Marc says, holding out his hand. "want to start our infinity?"
Jasmine mouth curves into a smile. For the first time in her life, she knows exactly what she wants.
"To our infinity" she tells them, taking their hand.
Together, the walk down the path to their house. Marking the beginning of their infinity.
