Leon

Chapter 4: Pro Heroes: Leon

Chapter Text

The heroes' office is warm, and Leon is sleeping peacefully on the comfortable cat bed perched on top of the bookshelf. Sometimes, he misses the softness of moss and the fresh scent of dew-covered bark, but this is good, and as he ages he can't deny it's nice not to have to hunt your meals all the time.

Heroes are always busy, apparently, but sometimes they need attention—as humans do. From time to time, they stop everything to catch each other, hugging and kissing and smiling.

That's Leon's cue. That's how he pays them back for taking him in.

He gets up and stretches, then jumps from the top of the shelf. It's dangerously high, but Leon is fearless and also he can always count on a light and fluffy cloud to appear and soften his landing. They always smell like drizzle on a warm day and Leon starts purring and kneading, waiting for the cloud to bring him closer so that he can butt his head into elbows and hands, and give the humans some attention and love, too.

The delighted coos and warm caresses tell him that he's succeeded. His humans are happy, and so is he.
