Chapter Text
The ghosts are in an apartment that is currently empty because the owner went on vacation. After a vigorous round of ghostly lovemaking, Eren spoke. "Do you think we should be thinking of moving on to the next stage of the afterlife?"
"What makes you think that?" Levi asked sharply, though he had an idea.
"It's just that we've been stuck here for around a hundred years, don't you want to go on the next adventure?" Eren asked.
"Oh, are you tired of me already?" Levi teased his lover.
"No, of course not." Eren dropped the subject for now. He knew that Levi did not like the idea of moving on, especially the subject of reincarnation. The potential to be separated was too great, in Levi's opinion.

Elsewhere, in the apartment complex, Mikasa is busy reading a book about ghosts and spirits. She and Armin deduced that the ghosts were stuck in place and are somehow unable to move on. Armin was in the apartment with her, and the books are mostly his courtesy of the local library.
Since no one else was able to see them until she came along, Mikasa thought that maybe there is a reason that she can see them, and that the reason was that she was supposed to help them move on.
"What type of unfinished business could these ghosts possibly have?" Mikasa asked out loud.
"Maybe they are just really attached to this area." Armin tried to answer. "Or maybe they couldn't be together when they are alive, that's why they would prefer to remain ghosts, so they can be together, and nobody could do anything about it. Nobody alive anyways."
It made sense, Mikasa thought, the ghosts were both men from the 1920s, and gay people were not exactly accepted during that era in history. Dying ironically set them free in a sense.
