Chapter Text
After everyone finished their breakfast, Husk had already planned out his idea. Angel would have at least 2 meals per day plus snacks. If not, he can’t have booze or caffeine for the day. Husk knows that Angel will have a tough time with this, especially since booze is one of Angel’s favorite beverages, but he’ll get used to it eventually. This is for his own good.
Husk wrote this plan down in a notebook that Charlie had gotten him for his birthday. He just hopes Angel will comply with the schedule. He knows damn well that Angel is gonna try and cheat when the others aren’t around, so he went to the one other guest that Angel hangs around with the most.
“Cherri? Ya got a minute?” Husk says, knocking on Cherri Bomb’s bedroom door. He hears footsteps coming closer.
“Hey Husk! Ya need something?” Cherri opened the door, inviting Husk inside.
“I made this little schedule for Angel, just to make sure he’d be okay. But we both know he won’t adhere to it behind closed doors. I need you to keep an eye on him and maybe spread the word.” Husk asserts, sitting on her chair. An authentic expression is clear on his face.
“Sure! Anything for Angie. I’ll let the others know.” Cherri grabs the paper and stuffs it in her jean pocket.
“Thanks so much, Cherri.” Husk says, walking out the door, hoping this will work out.
When Husk comes back to the lobby, everyone is scattered. Charlie and Vaggi are planning the next group exercise, Lucifer is bickering with Alastor (as usual), Nifty is sweeping and talking to Baxter, and Angel is with Fat Nuggets, watching TV.
Things are looking more chaotic today than usual. More guests are checking in. Husk looks at Charlie. Her eyes are beaming with joy to see people actually wanting to be redeemed. She has cotton candy in her hands. Everyone looks at least somewhat happy today.
Husk walks over to Vaggi and Charlie with a new paper in his hands.
“Husk! I haven’t seen you all morning, what happened?” Charlie says, her eyes still gleaming.
“I was making a little eating schedule for Angel. You know how he gets. Actually, that’s why I came here. To talk to you about it.”
Vaggi looks at Husk with the slightest bit of awe. She didn’t think husk cared for Angel that much. Hell— she didn’t think Husk cared for anyone at all!
“What is it?” Vaggi asks.
“Well, we all know Angel doesn’t like to play by the rules. He’ll probably cheat if we leave him alone for too long, so can y’all keep an eye on him and make sure he adheres?” Husk asks.
“No problem! We’ll take care of that.” Charlie says. Husk turned to walk away.
“Husk wait!” Charlie exclaims.
“Thank you so much for caring for Angel. He really appreciates it. I knew you had a heart in there somewhere!” Charlie praised. Husk lets out a soft chuckle, then starts walking again.
Husk didn’t want to admit it to anyone, but he cared for Angel more than anyone he’d ever known. Which is odd because he used to hate him. He might go as far as saying he has a little crush on him— but the thought of that made Husk shiver. Him actually loving somebody? That can’t be true. Before he knows it, he makes his way over to where Angel is sitting.
Angel looks comfortable, scrolling on Sinstagram with his pet pig in his lap. Husk sits down next to Angel.
“Hey Angel.”
“Hey Husk. What’cha been up too?”
“Listen, I know you’ve been having some trouble lately, but I wanna make sure you’re okay. Which is why I made this!” Husk pulls out another sheet of paper with the schedule.
“That’s sweet of ya Whiskers. Thanks for caring about me. I’ll try my best.” Angel says sweetly, looking at Husk with appreciation.
As much as Angel didn’t want it, he had a crush on Husk too. He wanted to mention it before, but it would make their friendship awkward. Angel takes the paper and looks at it. This will certainly be hard, but he’ll give it a try.
