You Want Me to What?

Chapter Text

“I want you to take care of me.”

The demon stared at you in disbelief.

“I…” He looked down at his open palms as if he were questioning his own existence. “You do realize you could ask for anything, right? ANYTHING at all.”

“I am aware,” you nodded firmly. Displaying that you did, in fact, know that you could ask for anything.

“And you want me to take care of you?”

“Yes.”

He blinked a few times, still slack-jawed and processing your request.

“In what way do you want me to take care of you?”

“In all ways.”

“What does that even mean?”

“Okay, um,” you folded your hands and paused for a second to format your explanation. “I’m making a video game with my best friend right now. So, I want you to make sure I stay healthy and motivated until our first successful game is released. After that, you can do whatever you want with my soul. You’re after my soul, right? That’s what demons usually ask for in most fictional stories.”

“Wait,” he massaged his temples, “Why don’t you just ask me to make the game you’re working on a smash hit?”

“NO,” you slammed your hand down on your desk, making him jump a bit. “That’s for cheaters! I want people to like the game because it’s good! Not because I sold my soul to some demon!”

He reeled back in disbelief when he heard you call him ‘some demon’ but he decided he could bring it up later when he wasn’t completely and utterly confused.

“So let me get this straight,” he floated closer to you, arms crossed and eyes squinted in suspicion as he gazed at you. “All I have to do is make sure you don’t die before you release a successful video game? And then you’ll just let me have your soul?”

“Yep,” you nodded again.

“And you don’t want ANYTHING else?”

“Nope,” with the shake of your head, his cocky smirk spread his lips again.

“Wow, you’re easy,” he snickered at his innuendo.

“Oh, you think this is going to be easy?” you raised an eyebrow and crossed your own arms.

“I mean, yeah?” he floated around you so his body curled around your backside. “How hard can it be to keep one human alive?”

“It can be very hard when that human is as inept as being a human as I am.” Osomatsu would have laughed if he hadn’t seen how deadly serious you were about that statement.

“U-Um…” He was honestly at a loss for words. How do you even respond to that?

“Anyway,” you broke your intense stare and turned back to your computer screen. “Do you have any advice on writing a magic system for this game?”

“Huh?” he blinked and his eyes darted to your computer screen which happened to still be displaying the weird witchcraft website you had been perusing.

“You’re a demon, so if anyone knows about magic, you should, right?” you started typing again, and the demon sat near the corner of your desk.

“Uh, yeah?” his tail flicked back and forth before he leaned over, tugging at the collar of your hoodie and exposing the skin of your neck. “Before that though…”

“What are you doing?” your eyebrows furrowed in confusion before he buried his face in the crook of your neck and bit down harshly on the junction of your neck and shoulder. You hissed and tried to push him away, but he held you firmly in place. A steady tingling sensation began to surface where he had pierced your skin and it slowly grew into a searing heat. He released you after a minute and you kicked him away, holding a hand up to the area where he had bit you.

“What the fuck man?!” you were this close to standing up and slapping him. He snickered and lazily floated over your bed.

“Relax I was just branding you with the contract mark.” You pushed your feet against the floor, making your swivel chair zoom backward and you looked in the mirror, raising your hand from your neck to reveal the bush symbol that had been on the summoning circle had been tattooed in a deep red with small teeth marks surrounding it.

“I mean, I guess that makes sense, but could you put it somewhere more inconspicuous?” You rubbed the mark tenderly. Most of the tingling had disappeared, but there was still a slight sting. The demon shrugged and continued to idly float around your room.

“If I’m going to be stuck here ‘taking care of you’ while you make your little video game, I might as well have some fun when I can.”

Notes:

I'm gonna be dumping the plot of a self-insert idea I've had for a while here because I needed to get this down somewhere lol
