Starchaser fic that happens in James' fifth year (so Regulus' fourth) with quite a lot of angst and general sadness, so there's that. Also, in this, Regulus is still anti-muggleborns- I've tried to keep it as canon-compliant as possible, but let me know if I falter. VERY slowburn, but trust me, it happens. (I mean, they just think they're bros being bros, which is the most hilarious thing to me)
The title is based off THE ✨Zella Day's ✨song: 'Sacrifice'. Did I say everything? Oh, right:

In hindsight Sirius wishes he'd seen all the signs of how Lucius has been hurting his brother.

Regulus' life has always been troubled, sprinkles of positive in the form of his brother Sirius Black and summer fling with James Potter along the way but mainly a shit show. Following his attempted suicide on the grounds of the Black family estate Regulus moves in with his brother Sirius and his band mates to navigate life outside of the seedy underbelly of high society he'd grown up in.
