Well, subconsciously at least, they are all already seeing Dick in Peter. Their subconscious has already figured it out and it seems that Jason is closest in drawing a conscious connection between Peter and Dick.
However, when they do finally find out for certain, they'll be in shock.
Glad to have the confirmation that the stalking really is a misunderstanding, though damn it, now they are consciously getting into stalker mode... oht of a wish to protect Peter and I really hope he will come to see it that way.
Also, poor Stephen. He is no abuser. Neither are Tony, Bruce Banner, Bucky, Nat or the other Avengers. Could you maybe add some more information on the timeline and Peter's relationship with his fellow heroes in his og universe? When did Peter get his powers? How did he meet the other heroes? Were he and Tony close, as in Spiderson and Irondad territory-close, even if they may not have admitted it to each other aloud? (Crossing my fingers for that last one, because I love Irondad and Spiderson). I am assuming the Avengers themselves were also quite different and had healthy or at least healthier relationships, being an actual family (because canon Steve, Natasha, Clint felt like hypocritical bullies to me with the way they treated Tony, while Bruce and Rhodey, as well as Happy and Pepper seemed to treat Tony like he was a child to be handled and also didn't really defend him...and Thor choking Tony in Age of Ultron wasn't exactly good either, although as an Asgardian, he probably had no idea exactly how dangerous and life threatening that move was).
Anyway, back to Stephen. He really does not deserve the shade thrown at him by the Bats, although to be fair, from their pov, it does look exactly like Stephen IS abusing poor Peter.
Hmm...gaining Peter's trust as their civilian identities... hope that one doesn't backfire on them. Peter's spidey senses are very very good and it may just be possible that he recognizes them even out of costume (by their voice, the sound of their heart).
Yes, Peter is inherently good and wants to believe in the good in others. Which is a good thing and I love that he shares that with Dick (it's a large part of why those two- Peter and Dick - are my favourite characters). Because being optimistic and trusting in others goodness, having a good outlook on life (that part, Peter obviously struggles with currently thanks to all the shit he has gone through, with Beck and even before) will influence the world arojnd you for the better. It's not magic, of course. However, ones outlook on life does influence what happens and putting energy into good things makes them happen more.
I love Jason gifting Peter a heating jacket and giving him food. Kiddo needs to eat.
