  1. Corwin at the edge of chaos

Anakin just cannot comprehend that his Master doesn't know/remember enough to he attached. His Core worlds' accent is more accurate an indicator. Like the wet rat feel for a desert boy. Good chapter.

    1. Anakin's experience is a direct opposite. He'll try to understand, but he really... can't, not on the inner, deeper level.
Funny that you mention Obi's accent! I have a headcanon here. :)

I have no trouble with that, though I wonder if he took a bit of his final accent from his therapist as well. And it makes a nice inverted nod to the similar work done by James Earl Jones when a child, who was the voice of Vader.

Anakin's not as educated about vocal patterns, even if he is multilingual. Both Gui-Gon and Obi-Wan are usually seen as adept. Given the polyglot necessity of such a large Republic, more should have accents, even among the Jedi.

        1. Whoa, I didn't know that Jones had a stutter. Wow!
Yes, I think the therapist was from the same region of Naboo like Palpatine - which could explain the similarities between their accents. He/She (I haven't decided yet) was the main influence on the wee Kenobi, so it's natural that he adapted their patterns into his own.
Anakin definitely notices the "odd" way his Master speaks, but takes it as a just another Kenobi thing like the reddish hair or the fascination with beige.
Most of the Jedi, I think, have the "general-upper-coruscanti-temple-district" accent. It has its own jargon, idioms etc, but they quickly lose it the moment they start going on long term missions. After a while, they reach a very nondescript "space" accent.
And yeah, polyglotism is a definite necessity.
