    I read about this somewhere. GRRM put that in on a lark, and only later found out that acrobatics for dwarfs is rather painful but apparently he couldn't go back and edit it. It's why Peter Dinklage doesn't do that in the show, but rather just walks into the scene.

      Tyrion knows how to do acrobatic routines he even made cersei laugh while doing it but his father told himto stop it and between the line of 'you where born as a lion not a monkey' in the books

        Well, like I said, this was later, so he decided to subtly retcon it or limit Tyrion's acrobatics to accounts and stories of handstands and cartwheels.

            Thank you guys for explaining, that makes a lot of sense! I just always found that scene a bit weird and out of place - so it’s good to know it was just a mistake :)
