Comment on Beneath the Sun

  1. This fits agonisingly perfect into Legolas's characterisation, and I feel like I should hate it, but it's so good I can't.

    1. I was so-- well, okay, maybe "happy" isn't quite the right word, but I've had this headcanon for SUCH a long time and have been bursting to use it, but I knew I couldn't just throw it out separate from a story, that it needed to be written out, at least a little bit. It was something that struck me with the body-soul duality of elves: if Legolas's voice was something he'd projected onto Gimli, that was a part of his spirit he could physically lose access to when Gimli died. It was sort of my compromise-- my way of making him irrevocably changed without actually killing him. I'm glad you think it fits!
