Something else I love? Gibbs and Tony are famous for not talking, not having much to say about the loads they carry. Tim? Is suddenly confronted with new responsibility and a looming tragedy. He has SO much to say, so much that he MUST say. Not easy, bullpen stuff, and he is almost inarticulate, but he COMES THROUGH. Proves that it only takes what it takes. Worry, Hope, Love, indeed. And strength he didn't know he had. And honesty that he couldn't let go of but that didn't let him or Tony down. (Tony was sick. Lying for him wouldn't have been "saving" him at all. You are as sick as your secrets. Possibly another reason why Gibbs couldn't help, why Tony is getting a fresh start and Gibbs is still an emotional cripple.)
And the story's last line: Someone turned on the light.. I am crying. Literally, I am crying, right now.
Adding something here re: your earlier comment Cacky about Tony's returning to Gibbs, despite everything.
This is such a pattern of behavior for him, and I'm not going to assert that it's a bad thing, like I've seen other stories do. We've seen him do it with his dad, over and over again. He's done it with Wendy. Didn't go back to her, but let her back in, somewhat. While Tony does know how to hold a grudge, he also knows how to forgive, and I looooove that about him. I don't think that's a bad trait at all.
It's my opinion that McGee is the real hero in this story. I really like Tim. He has such a good, stable moral compass. He's a strong person, too. Just a good person to have in your corner. I knew he'd always be the one there for Tony.
