I am so glad this fic is still going! I gotta say, I can't blame you for getting overly invested in the archives subplot. Worldbuilding is fun. (Seriously, I get disappointed when I read ASOIAF and battle scenes keep interrupting the dry political discussions about tax surpluses) I'm excited to see where it goes!
I liked Edelgard's little moment to herself at the end. I was starting to feel like she was way too trusting of Claude who, at this point, has every reason to stab her in the back. Clarifying her frustrations and doubts added a lot. I hope this slow-burn starts heating up soon because I'm already pumped! You did a great job! Keep on writing!
Ah, I'm really glad you said that, because that little bit of introspection was something I wasn't sure of including in the end, so it's good to hear that keeping it in was the right decision. And also LOL I am exactly the same with tax surpluses and stuff, military history has never been my thing, and it also translates into fic I suppose XD Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
