This story was absolutely amazing, I would read so many chapters and it's exactly my style. I love the whole post-trauma trying to blend in with normal people thing and with Damon and Elena? This is so exciting!
Thanks so much and sorry for my late response. I really thought that they were in PTSD-mode. How couldn't they be after everything that happened on the series? And then of course it's hard to blend in with people who don't know anything about the supernatural. My feelings throughout the fic were that they both thought that in order to be happy, they had to bury the past, bury the supernatural. Damon didn't want to, but was muscling through it. Elena wanted the normal life. But that to truly be happy they'd have to embrace both sides of themselves, kind of be okay with all of it, the normal/boring, the crazy, the supernatural, the trauma. Accepting all of that was the key to real happiness (just like it is for all of us, minus the supernatural).
