HI AGAIN I'm so glad you've continued reading!!!! Honestly I absolutely live for these comments, I'd be happy even if you were the only one reading this just because you do such a fantastic job of making me feel like every single word I write is an important one :)))
I noticed the little scar on the bottom of Kane's lip in season one when he was unshaven, idk why but it was one of the first things I saw and absolutely just had to incorporate that into this story in some way mainly because Kane doesn't really seem like the kind of guy who got into many fights or anything like that, so there had to be a story about the scar that stayed true to his character. Also scars are hot and Kane is hot so voila, perfection.
I'm glad you like that Callie is in the story, I hope you'll like where I take her character, I loooooove her and I wish they had given her more of a storyline in season one instead of supposedly floating her for "unknown reasons" after the pilot like ugh, what was the point?? But, she was so fiercely protective of Abby in that first episode that I just knew I had to make their friendship a strong one for good reasons, and I love how Callie was obviously an important, professional figure on the Ark and she got her job done, but she clearly wasn't like Kane and the others who thought that there was no reason for friendships and love on the Ark, just because it wasn't a very happy, opportune place to be. So, I'm trying to do her justice while she's still alive during this story!!
I think I'm gonna maybe make Jaha into the ultimate Kabby shipper because why the hell not?! I kind of catch little moments while I rewatch the series that tell me he might just like the idea of Kane and Abby together, because he sees how opposite they are but in a way that makes them both need each other in order to see the bigger picture and look at life from both sides. I think that (before he went crazy, ofc) Jaha was super smart and picked up on a lot of things that not everyone else could see, so ofc he would like the idea of Kabby together, and also they're two really good friends of his so I think he'd love that lol.
I'M GLAD YOU LIKE THE HAIR THING I was really tentative to include it because I wasn't sure if it really fit them or not, but I kind of think of the friendships that I have now while I'm around that age and yeah, everyone's pretty touchy even for no good reason, and especially if there's any sexual tension, I think that they'd be looking for any excuse to get their hands on each other without actually having to act on it lololol. Anyways I'm really relieved to hear that you liked that part because it's probably one of my favourite scenes and I loved writing it hehe. ALSO the whole "little moment" chat was fun for me because it really is true, throughout the years as they drifted apart, I can just imagine Kane and Abby sharing teeny tiny little moments together as they come, even if there's years and years in between them, but still gives them some history and connection throughout the years.
I intend on developing the Jake/Abby/Kane friendships further in this work too because in season one when Abby was getting arrested she made it sound like Kane and Jake were really good friends at one time, and that's why he was such a horrible person for floating him, so I've always been curious to see how that friendship looked in its prime (obviously Abby would be involved too as her and Kane were one time friends and now her husband is good friend with him, so how did THAT dynamic work) and also how it managed to end only when Kane floated him. Because it sounded like he floated him when they were still relatively good friends, based on what Abby said.
Anyways I'm rambling again, so thanks again for continuing to enjoy this work, PLEASE keep commenting, I absolutely adore you!!!!!

I guess the actor has a scar?? I never noticed but haha makes sense. Yes scars are hot and yes marcus is hot HAHAHA so trueeeee love that. Yes CALLIE she deserved so much more!! Jaha being a Kabby shipper is such a funny idea to me honestly go for it, I live for the “third person ships the otp” trope you know? I do also like Jaha as a character (i know a lot don’t but eh) and yes I agree he was smart and would be able to see things. YES THE HAIR THING OMGGGG HAIR THING I WAS FANGIRLING SO BAAAAAD I just know how fun that would have been to write bc it was so damn fun and soft to read. I’m excited to see Jake and Kane and Abby interact :O
