That was a great fic! The Other Alef twist was fun, and I'm always down for cameos from Grandson Dragonlord. I will say I am a little sad Alef's "guardian" didn't get his face punted in onscreen at some point, but I don't think there really was time for that haha
Buildrick was great, characters with his attitude-especially the snark towards Rubiss-are one of my favorites-he will be missed, no shits to give! just build!!!
The inclusion (opportunity provided by Buildrick) of showing off the division in the monsters just minding their own business and those supporting the Dragonlord. I may just be biased towards nonhumans and cute teary-eyed Slimes just a little
How you handled describing Buildrick working at his bench-working with a miniaturized version of whatever was being made was great. I love seeing how people interpret mechanics into their fics (That one DQB2 fic interpreting Malroth unintentionally reviving the Builder like a bootleg Rubiss whenever she hits the game over screen is another one of my favorite extrapolations (That would be "to hold it against your bones" by valety in case any wayward comment readers come along looking for said fic))
I wasn't sure where this fic was going to end up, but I'm glad I got to read it as you updated. I used the updates as an evening wind-down quite a bit! Sorry I didn't comment more often

Haha, I know right? I had it planned out that they would go to Cantalin and destroy Alef's old home along the way. But, the Dragon Lord wanted in, and started moving. Just rest assured that Monster!Alef took a great amount of pleasure killing them all off haha. But I'm glad the other Alef, and the Grandson were your favorites! I enjoyed having them come in!
That's right, Buildrick is here to build! He doesn't give a shit about Rubiss, Alef's existential crises (either ones) or anything else. Let the guy build!
It's a little interesting I thought! DQB2 has Molly a monster tamer, but no friendly monsters within the storyline itself. DQB1 had all monsters too afraid of the Dragon Lord to even think about coming to your side to actually fight. Splatrick and the other two monsters came to town, but couldn't fight at all! But, I think the monsters in both DQB1 and DQB2 were some of the best parts. They had such a nice, inhuman yet human way of looking at things!
Right! I love seeing game mechanics being explained! Everyone has a different way they handwave stuff, and thank you for that fic! I'll have to take a look into it.
