Comment on Interregnum III: Imperial Justice

  1. So, if the sects existed in Legends, you can assume they continue to exist. No promises on seeing them, because... well, frankly, each story has to be a self-contained unit and not every plot element belongs in every story. The Matukai are very low-profile, so their continued existence really doesn't compromise anything.

Corran is at the same point here he was during and after "I, Jedi". He's had some training, he could be a Jedi, but he's still a Rogue first and foremost and not really an institutional part of the order.

We're still very early in this novel, which will come out around 200k words. We're going to get a better look at the Jedi, including Tyria, and the plans that Luke, Mara, and Kam are working on for the order's future. But we won't get it all at once of course... the story, and universe, has to unfold in its own time. No rushing.

And I do think the NJO broke the pattern, but unfortunately the post-NJO reverted back to the pre-NJO status quo in a lot of (in my opinion) harmful ways. And they're not using the word Padawan mostly because it isn't appropriate. All the Jedi trainees are grown men and women who are (at the youngest) in their twenties. Jedi trainees typically became Padawans at younger ages. Besides, Yoda and Ben never used that word for Luke, so he's not of the mind to apply it to others.

    1. No promises in this story or in general? Luke outreaching was just something I approved of and was making note of. Just so long as you know they exist at all. ;)

Hmm, and he still hasn't made a full commitment, gotcha...

Oh please no rushing, this is part of the journey that I'm looking forward to.

Welp, it's because the EU was kind of clumsy in bridging the OT and PT as being part of the same galaxy, I feel, so as the PT finished up, they brought back more stuff in 'accordance,' you know? Kind of like how there are more Battle Droids and the like out in the galaxy, not something I disapprove, quite the opposite, but there are so many disjointed authors, it's hard for them to have kept it all straight to begin with...

Ehh, Ben and Yoda might have mentioned the words offscreen and Obi-Wan was a Padawan till he was 25, but I see your points. Just so long as it isn't 'conveniently forgotten.'
