A quick summary, it's the story of a Palpatine, he in his attemp to kill his Master Darth Plagieus ends up seriously injured and near death and then suddenly his body is taken over by a Sane Sith Lord of the Old Sith Empire who is sane and not insane enough to destroy the Jedi order, his vision to Create a strong Empire free of corruption and such, which last for generations to come, his plans for Jedi is to make them part of the new Empire slowly, step by step.

And another thing,.you must make the time to read this, it will give you a broader view on how deep the corruption in the Republic. The Republic was already weak and corrupted even before Darth Sidious came into the light as the Senator of Naboo. All Sidious had did was wait and let the destruction of Jedi/Republic be completed by the very hands of the greedy and corrupt Senators who were more worried for their self interests. And their are some hilarious moments too. The Darth Lord of the Sith having a headache talking to them idiot Senators.
I already have a pretty good idea of the corruption within the Republic. Even without the Sith, the Republic would still have fallen eventually; Sidious just made it fall sooner.
