Comment on the most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway

  1. “BJ had lived inside him for so long that he must have been born out of sheer wanting” 😭 Gah the LONGING.

I was on edge all through the surgery scene. This passage works SO WELL, it brilliantly captures the fragmented thoughts racing through Hawkeye’s mind before abruptly stuttering to a halt:

    “Hawkeye’s thoughts go like this:  beach / bus / bourbon / chicken / child / club / cold / crying / jeep / mask / mother / quiet / quiet / quiet.
And then there is nothing. A terrifying oblivion of thought.”

And this passage - surreal and unsettling, very much a Dreams vibe: “he sees a long line of children held together by a never-ending red scarf, black ragdoll stitching at their joints, and mismatched buttons for eyes.”

And “Is he sure these hands are his hands?”

Special mention to Hawkeye walking past a travesty of a window display and imagining telling Klinger about it in detail - and the Scarlett O’Hara impression!
