The issue with these stubborn characters insisting on lengthening the story is that I have *other* stories to write too. But it's cool, I won't apologize. I'm so glad others enjoy it, as I've always just written for myself.
For Valandil's death, I wanted to show that Earien possesses a lot of information, but not necessarily correct context, and she does not always know when she is being misled. And yes, she sees this as a Kemen issue, because Pharazon would never show such unwarranted malice. She can forgive Pharazon's dishonesty about it because, well, Kemen is his son, and it's understandable that a man should want to bail out his son. And Kemen has also been suitably punished, in a way. I have some ideas for future fics exploring the Earien-Kemen-Pharazon mess, don't you worry.
And Isildur has been so forgiving of Earien for so long, I wanted him to have a chance to zing her a little. But of course there will be drama about it.
Thank you for reading and commenting and enjoying!
