Jimmy deserves all the comfort and that includes good parents. I always see the Fentons as people who are good-meaning, with the difference between Good Parent Fentons and Bad Parent Fentons being how willing they are to challenge their own biases. In Taking Flight the Fentons fully believe they're saving their son, even as their action would lead to his permanent death. In this, they corrected their bias and became the pioneers in researching liminality.
