Not a critique of your writing, but I'm pissed off because I can't pick up properly on a bunch of the subtext because I am currently violently ill. The, uh, not subtext(?) I am really enjoying though. I think this just means that I am incapable of understanding foreshadowing, which means I get to still enjoy the story tho.
I can tell that Kris is an enigma. I'm betting they've done this before or something. They know a lot of things they have no right to know, although part of that is Goner somehow having less brain power than my current state for their memory, attention span, and attentiveness. The state of the loading being odd and past descriptions seems to show that this is Kris's powers, not theirs. Probably. Did Kris go through this without them in the past? Or maybe they went through before with somebody else???
Happy the fluffy boy can be happy though. Ralsei has been kinda beat up emotionally and physically so far.
If you're not feeling so well, why not read the story later? It's not going to go anywhere! But I feel like you picked up on a little bit of subtext I wrote! Writing foreshadowing is actually pretty hard, in my opinion!
