Lan Xichen glared up at the hanshi.
He wasn’t quite sure what he was doing there. Sure, he knew why he had taken the train here, the terrain slowly morphing into the familiar mist-covered mountains. He knew why he had packed away most of his belongings in his apartment, he knew why he had looked Uncle in the eye as he signed the contract announcing his intentions to go into a year of solitude, and signed away his rights as the CEO of the Lan company for 365 days exactly.
It was not every day you found out that your trusted friend and lover was trying to kill you.
