Summary
Last Darius remembered, none of his colleagues seemed to be twittering birds, so it could only be one person– or rather, one palisman.
So, with a rather copious amount of reluctance, Darius dragged himself out of bed and over to the door, where he swung it open with perhaps a bit more force than he’d intended.
“What do you want, Bird?” He snarled, keeping his voice low as to not be heard by any unwanted guests. “With all that chirping, you’re going to wake the whole palace up.”

Summary
Flapjack landed on his head, chirping and tugging at his hairlock. Hunter couldn’t be bothered to make out what he was saying right now. He was too miserable and too afraid to focus on anything other than those deafening, morbid thoughts screaming from the back of his skull. It was no use. He had to go back, covered in mud. Covered in failure.

Summary
Hunter sat up in bed that morning and his head spun so violently he felt it was about to fall right off his neck. Nausea churned in his stomach and rose to his throat, but nothing ever became of such and he doubted anything would. Every step he took, every mere movement would send his head reeling and for a few endless moments it would launch him so far into disorientation he’d feel detached from reality entirely.
He got up anyway.
