More Jedi follow Dooku out of the Order, and more systems follow them out of the Republic.

Notes:

This universe was supposed to be one of a fic which I never wrote, where the Council refuses to let Obi-Wan train Anakin, determined to keep his promise to Qui-Gon he follows Dooku out of the Order and keeps him from falling to the Dark Side, later more disillusioned Jedi join them, and this eventually leads to more systems joining the Confederacy as well.
