Summary
His face stares blankly at Buck's, watching soft mumbles coming out of his mouth, "don't leave me…" His head tilts back and forth before landing in a comfortable position, facing Eddie through his resting state.
"What the hell are you doing to me?" Eddie looks at Buck, whispering to himself.
He takes the beers on the coffee table, cleaning up the mess that had been created from their unusual situation, before going into his room and lying down on his bed— a sickly feeling amalgamating in his stomach. Before this moment, this feeling has never been here, but now that it's shown itself, Eddie can't seem to make it vanish.
or: Eddie lies sleeplessly with something strong boiling deep in his heart—something that Buck is in the center of, yet again.

Summary
Eddie's world collapses. Every sense of hope he's leeched onto disappears, spreading into every dark cavity of the hospital. "No, w-what do you mean? He was—he was talking when we were in the ambulance. He was fine—"
"The burns were too severe, many of which were infected. His lungs were collapsing too intensely due to excessive inhalation. Basically, every part of him was charred," the doctor explains.
He continues explaining until Eddie's ears block out the noise. Everything sounds so loud, and they're all blending until it becomes a simultaneous echo.

Summary
Eddie feels like he's flat-lining.
After coming back from therapy—being hit in the face with 30 new matter-of-facts—he sits at the table waiting for Buck. This isn't anything new; coming back from therapy always feels like this, but waiting for Buck for this is new.
He's waiting with what feels like a brick on his back, anticipation settling deep within his stomach. Silence accompanies him as he looks down at the table, a light gleam from the windows shining through. His head is in his hands when he thinks about how he got here.
// or: Eddie finds solace in Buck's touch, but maybe he wishes it were something more.
