Summary
When the Capital demands one man from every family to join the war against the Law, no exceptions, even royalty isn’t spared.
Wemmbu hears everything, sees what it does to her father, and understands what it means for the people she’s supposed to care about. So she leaves. She tucks her hair tight under her helmet, takes a sword she was never meant to use, and joins the army under a name no one would recognize.
It almost works—until Wemmbu lets FlameFrags, the general’s younger brother, become close to her when she shouldn’t have.
