“You said—you said what?” Multi asks, brows pinched together. “You said mother?”
“Well, yes,” she says slowly, gesturing proudly at Nacho. “This is my son.”
Multi immediately recoils. “Nooo! No!”
Katie flinches slightly at the unexpected volume of his voice.
“No, Katie,” he protests, pointing at himself. “Cause I’m the father of Nacho.”
There’s a moment of silence.
Katie stares at him blankly, processing the information.
Then she takes a slow step back.
“Oh, god.”

Summary
He’s not sure if he should tell her.
Because noticing something so small and inconsequential about her feels strangely intimate.
As if he’s unconsciously holding on to every little expression and mannerism she has without meaning to.
So he brushes the topic aside.
And as the conversation moves on, he doesn’t miss the soft exhale she lets out, or the way her shoulders droop ever so slightly in relief, a reaction that mirrors his own, albeit for completely different reasons.
Or, Multi starts noticing little things about Katie unconsciously.
