Amina knew she’d made a mistake the second she stepped foot into the address printed on the ad. Her desperation to catch up to her friend’s romantic progress had lead her to some dark places- i.e. the overzealous Mesopotamian warlord and his judgmental mum’s grudge against spring colors- but this one took the cake. All she wanted was to find the cute boy with the soulful brown eyes, and now she was being confronted by a fearsome, yet vaguely familiar, woman. She wasn’t exactly beautiful- magnetic was the better word, with her ripped jeans, scattered tattoos, and the most intense eyes Amina had ever seen.
