When Alec opened the door, he was looking at Maurice, who had a wonderful expression of awe painted on his face, witnessing the wooden cottage, the bare windows, the space of the main area, the turn into what could become the kitchen, the washroom, the small storage area, and the bedroom. They envisioned the furniture, they smelled the food that would be made here, the fire burning away at the fireplace, the smoke rising out of the chimney. They saw and felt it all.

Summary
This is the story of Maurice Hall, Clive Durham, Alec Scudder and some other characters from 'Maurice' by E.M. Forster. They are based on the novel (1913) as well as on the film by James Ivory (1987). Slight difference: my fic is set in the late 20th and the early 21th century, as told by the four main characters during the Covid pandemic.
The series should be viewed as a modern sequel to the original story. Our Forster friends go through the craziest adventures, experiencing love, happiness, sadness and distress and a muddle in general.- Words:

Now that I finished this fic, I must admit it surprised me. It kind of took its own direction and I just went with it.
Maurice and Alec and family in Malta, Clive with his family and relatives in Pendersleigh, the Chapmans in London and, above all, for they surprised me by calling in uninvited and appearing here and there, Kitty and her friend Violet. Still I managed to keep my title as all these are flashes of just a normal Christmas. And I finished by Twelfth Night, still during Christmas time.- Language:

They find each other, and it seemed that they had found everything they had been looking for. However, their happiness doesn't last for long. The changing seasons bring chaos and the two find themselves on the road to Hell.

In every ending there lies a beginning...
A minute by minute fic. Merging details from the book and film I attempt to fill in some of the blanks, or ''fade-in fade-out'' moments that occur before and after certain chapters. Every bit as my mad mind would like to imagine them. Not a novel idea, but this is an exploratory endeavor. Written in 3rd person, leaning mostly towards Alec's POV. Trying my damnedest to remain faithful, but I can't resist poetic liberty, so I may stray from canon. Though some parts are far from explicit, the story will eventually progress there. I so love this pair and I hope it shows. If I have the guts, hopefully this will lead up to a post-boathouse/aftermath story.
