The scent of damp earth and gasoline filled the back of the rumbling taxi, mixing with the strong constant of cigarette smoke rising from the occupant in the back seat.
Jeongin sat in the worn leather seat, his long fingers absentmindedly tracing the frayed edges of a notebook resting on his lap, a lit cigarette in his other hand. The journal's pages were filled with ink-and-pencil-smudged thoughts, half formed poems, and fragments of a mind that felt too sharp and too blurred all at once.
Jeongin didn’t try to kill himself.
He just had a headache.
