    There’s no questioning it, no denying it, and as much as Anakin resents it now, resisting it would be as futile as trying to steal the stars from sky: during combat, they protect each other. So Anakin relaxes as he walks with Obi-Wan, lets the tension bleed from his muscles just a little, because his best friend is the only person in the Galaxy who he trusts to protect him during war, and the aftermath of a battle like this is a war in its own right.

    The first mission after Ahsoka leaves is a disaster. Anakin and Obi-Wan take care of each other in the aftermath.

Not only was he being forcibly demoted - despite the fact that he was already knighted and a highly Decorated general of The Clone Wars, which, by the way, they’d won – he was to apprentice under a new Master that nobody had even heard of before.

    Or, Anakin Skywalker is assigned a new Master who is thirty years his senior. The result is perhaps not what The Council intended.

    With the death of Darth Sideous, the Seperatist movement falls. Generals Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are called to Kamino after defeating the last Seperatist stronghold. On the way there, secret relationships are revealed.

    Basically, I refuse to let the clone era die. Anakin doesn't turn. Padme doesn't die. They raise Luke and Leia. Omega joins the Jedi (as given possibility in season 3 of TBB). Obi-Wan works to change the Jedi Code. He also helps Padme and Senator Chuchi give the clones rights after the war.

    Recently changed from T to M due to eventual smut (but like writing hardcore smut scares me so it's pretty tame)

    The first time the thought I love him enters Padmé’s mind, they’re sitting in the grass she played in as a little girl. She tells him how difficult it is to get the other senators to listen, and Anakin says, unflinching, “then they should be made to.”
    She doesn’t agree with him. There’s something a little disturbing about it. Padmé has been a defender of justice for most of her life, even despite the futility of it; she knows that forcing your way never helps and runs counter to what she believes in.
    But sometimes it’s frustrating, working with her own colleagues who see the same shit she sees, day in and day out, people starving, problems like slavery and child sex rings and spice addiction get ignored; as they see that and do nothing. It’s frustrating to devote herself to justice in the galaxy, and to feel at times like she’s the only one who cares.

     

    AKA the Padmé thesis - why it makes perfect sense that someone like her would fall in love with Anakin Skywalker, and devote herself to the Republic, even while something rotten was growing inside both of them.
