So, obviously, his fourth quest on his eighth summer should be just the same. On a quest with Georgi and Anya, Viktor doesn't quite make it back to camp, and people aren't too happy about it. And 'people' mostly means Yuri Plisetsky, a slightly uncontrollable son of Hecate who isn't afraid to use his magic against other people if they piss him off.
Yuuri Katsuki stumbles into all of this right when Viktor Nikiforov goes missing.
So he's the one that gets sent to save him. Obviously. Because that makes sense.
