It's December 2010, and without Percy's help in the war, Gaea and her giants claimed victory and drove the gods into hiding. With the Mist fallen and the world crawling with monsters, Percy must seek out the demigod survivors at Lupa's guidance as they prepare to make their final stand.

    Or an AU, dystopian retelling of Heroes of Olympus with a lot of plot twists: the canon divergence is not what you think it is, and the original plot gets entirely upended.

    He laughs, entirely without humor. “We’re a team, Annabeth. We’re supposed to struggle, we’re supposed to—you know—get through the hard stuff together. You can’t just- You can’t just leave everything behind all because you don’t want to think about it anymore.”

    The Argo II rocks harder. Faintly, she can hear Leo yelling in the hallway about the ship, probably searching for the both of them. She needs to stop this. They need to end this.

    “But you know that I’m right,” Annabeth says, and it sounds more like a plea. “You know that we’re only doing each other worse by staying like this.”

    Percy seethes, teeth bared. “That’s a fucking lie.”

    Something white-hot climbs into her throat, and she’s saying the words before she can even think to stop herself.

    “I’m scared of you, Percy.”

    Boom. The bomb explodes.

    For one horrifying minute, there’s nothing but silence. Then, a sort-of strangled sound escapes Percy’s lips.

    “You’re…” His voice breaks, and he wets his lips, scratching at the back of his neck. “You’re scared of me?”

     

    or, it's been three days since Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson have escaped from Tartarus. This is the aftermath.

    After the war with Gaea, things settled down again. The heroes of the prophecy argued and fought on occasion like any young adults did but they went about their lives as usual. Piper and Jason travelled around the US in hopes of having a normal life, Percy and Annabeth lived the quiet life in New Rome and Frank and Hazel spent their days trying to keep the city in check. All in all it wasn't perfect but it was the way they liked.

    There was one thing they could all agree on though: Leo was the best thing to ever happen to the universe

    Or: Hazel, Frank, Jason, Piper, Annabeth, Percy, and Nico are helplessly in love with one Leo Valdez. Maybe a nice vacation can finally get them to figure it all out and tell him what they feel.
