“We’re airing this out and moving on. And we are going to do it before Eddie gets home.” Harrington states with a finality that sets Gareth’s teeth grinding. As if Steve is the one who’s more concerned about their friend’s feelings than Gareth is at this point.Or
Gareth has had just about enough of Steve Harrington in the fall of '86. He sets about to do something about it. It takes an angry mob, a Corroded Coffin gig and a baseball bat full of nails for him to change his mind.
Gareth gets mad, Eddie gets beat up, Steve gets violent and Wayne is just really tired of everyone's shit.

Robin huffs. “We can’t collect worms if I have to hold them and look for them.”
Steve still doesn’t move, eyeing the worm doubtfully. She watches him, then looks back at the worm, then back at him.
“Are you scared of worms?”
“No,” he says quickly, defensive.
“They’re not scary, I promise.”
He bristles. “I’m not scared of worms.”
Steve and Robin met, once, about a decade before Scoops Ahoy and Starcourt Mall.

Because Steve, fucking- Steve stands in front of him, close, really close, and looks at him, slowly and deliberately. Eddie can follow the exact path his eyes make, to his eyes, down his nose, over his jaw and chin, and finally, his lips. They linger there and then- then Steve takes a deep breath, so deep his chest rises and brings them even closer together and, still staring at Eddie with hooded, shiny, beautiful brown-green eyes, he sighs slowly. But it’s not just a sigh, it’s a sound, an almost but not quite moan.
