Summary
He hadn’t anticipated this. Their heart seldom, if ever, latched onto people, and even if it did, it would let go just as quickly. He thought it would happen with Ryan over here. Not this time. Their heart had grown claws that dug into them. Every time Ryan piped a snarky remark or let slip his intrigue for his latest story, the Professor could feel the claws sink deeper into his skin.
They shouldn’t feel this way, especially towards their friend who was already betrothed to another. He shouldn’t daydream about spending every hour of every day with him, getting to learn every minute detail about him, lying down beside him and telling him he was his, and only his. Yet they not only daydreamed, but fueled their dreams with scrawled-out letters that would only ever see the shadows of their drawers. Every time he caught sight of the pile, he wanted to puke, but the pile grew anyway.
Ryan wheezed again. God, his laugh…
