It had been slow going; he’d carefully fed it bits of information over the last ten months, building up its memory of the world. History, science, philosophy - he’d left no stone unturned, trying to make sure his companion - his friend - would be worthy of conversing with.

There's nothing saying that you can't fall in love with your ship, but one day it's going to bite someone in the ass.
