I didn't feel alive. The point between my shoulders had long gone numb, and my vision had long gone spotted, tinted yellow around the edges. Miraculously a laugh bubbled out my mouth. I could taste the sweat on my lips. I didn't know what possessed me to do it, but I felt delirious. I’d read about this. Or heard about. (I don’t really read). Too much pain made people delirious. Why hadn’t I just passed out? Life would’ve been easier then.

Percy didn’t like the way the new kid was looking at him, his bright eyes always peering at him from the corner of some corner or piece of art in the manor, like he was waiting for him to slip up.
He tried to control his emotions, he really did, but the entire situation was definitely unfair, both to him and to Jason.
Since Jason had died, Bruce had managed to first strip Percy of his own colors and vigilante name, ignore his new adopted pet project completely, take in the kid next door (who definitely still had parents who were alive, kicking it, and extremely rich), and give Jason’s colors to him when logically they should’ve been Percy’s next.

The satyr waved through the Iris message. “Hi. Listen, uh, I have a favor to ask…”
“Anything,” Annabeth promised, “I’m skipping school for the rest of the calendar year, so I’m free to dip whenever and wherever.”
Percy shrugged. “I have no set plans.”
“Great,” Grover looked relieved and glanced around, and that was when Percy noticed he was in a bathroom, probably locked in, “well, ideally you also go pick up Thalia on your way, or meet her here, I don’t mind either, whatever works. I knew I had to call you now if I wanted you to make it, though. Can you guys get to Bar Harbor by Friday evening? It’s an emergency.”

Things are stirring, and Percy's "work trip" is cut short in December to help Grover get two demigods to camp - not new ones, though, because Percy recognizes them, and the monster that's after them. Things spiral out of control almost immediately, and Percy is left with an almost impossible choice.

Both loners in their own right (Leo being told he is the Seventh Wheel, and Nico being... well, Nico), they find comfort in each other's company and find themselves fighting to save each other over and over, though it takes a minute for our boys to figure out WHY they care so dam much (Nico knows who he is, but can't wrap his head around the LEO factor; Leo runs away from any and all feelings because trauma, so it takes him a bit longer to get with the gay agenda).
Full of twists and turns and so much gay fluff/angst you'll be squealing.
