It had been two weeks since Mitchell was killed by a werewolf. George and Annie were still mourning the loss of their friend when suddenly they find Mitchell, their Mitchell, wondering the streets alone. But somethings still not quite right, is this really their friend?
In other words, Mitchell was told he was going to be killed by a werewolf and he was. However, like Herrick, he was somehow able to come back. But also like Herrick, he has no memory of what he is or who his friends are. While they are all sad that he doesn’t remember, it becomes an opportunity for his friends to learn more about the struggles of being a vampire.

A slight alternate to events from where Herrick (brought back to life) is brought to the house, and jumping from the scene where George tells Mitchell to leave him alone to the end. Everyone has fears. Some might fear snakes, or dying alone, and even unexplained briefcases. All three of those apply to Anders, and thanks to a prank Mike pulled on him when they were younger Anders has never been able to eat a red apple since.
When three mysterious strangers enter the Johnson's life they bring with them darkness, fear and terror, and if the Johnson's aren't careful they could find themselves in a situation one of them might not make it out of.

He thinks of the way Mitchell says his name sometimes – like it gives him joy and torment at the same time; the way he can whisper it, swallow it, wrap his tongue around it with that Irish lilt lke it was always meant to be said like this, exactly like this, everybody else just said it wrong for the past 30-odd years.
And then he thinks of how much he wants all of that, every day – to be Mitchell’s joy and torment because he may have just realized, Mitchell is the same to him.
He’s the root of every single one of Anders’ problems these days; and he’s the only possible solution. No, not the only possible one. But the one Anders wants, more than any other.

After being beaten senseless by Seth and his vampire cronies, George is taken by his saviour, the mysterious stranger named Mitchell, to a nearby diner to get cleaned up. While escaping from the cold and the monsters which roam outside, George learns more about the man who protected him, and even begins to forge a bond of trust with the man who might not be so dissimilar from himself.
Written as a continuance from the flashback scene where George and Mitchell meet for the first time, behind the cafe where George works.
