Simon Petrikov is recruited before the Ice Crown can fully transform him. The Mushroom War is prevented…though its mastermind is still at large. A little half-demon girl is saved from those who'd use her for ill. A bioengineered genius is given purpose rather than needing to make her own. A shapeshifting changeling is along for the ride. And a regular human boy gets the chance to become a hero like he's always dreamed.
Still, it’s hard enough to save one person, let alone the entire world. Minds, bodies, love, freedom, control--everything is at risk when responsibility demands sacrifice. It’s very possible to lose yourself entirely. But there’s friends to be found in even the darkest places, and some people are worth fighting for, especially when they fight for you too.

And then one day, everything changed. She disappeared into her laboratory, and came out with an immensely powerful homunculus and a grim determination on her features. The chaos that ensued left Finn Mertens without an arm, Kara Strong missing, Princess Phoebe of the Fire Realm in a coma, and Bonnie gone in the wind, the most powerful magical artifact ever known - The Enchiridion - in her grasp.
Now, a year later, the fugitive sorcerer has returned in bloody spectacle, determined to achieve her enigmatic goals. It's up to those who once loved her most to track her down, and stop her, the burning question of her ultimate motivations lingers in their minds. Flame Princess' forlorn upbringing inside an abode of a pillaring lantern has made her docile and ingenuous to the world outside, but it all changes once Phoebe meets her coequal, Finn. While Phoebe's unhealthy proclivity for destruction is dampened with time, Finn's heroic tenets and his reprisal, her isolation and the Flame King's influence is slowly making her unstable. With things being too hot to handle.
Chapter starts with "Hot To The Touch", rehashing it but character extra thoughts and extra bits are incorporated and blended in. Disclaimer only chapter to be 're-hashed' like this, future iterations will follow a canon, kind of divergence, original chapters.

He has to go one kingdom at a time, and his sights are on the Fire Kingdom. He has to win over the kingdom, the problem is, they already have a ruler, and she's terror in high heels. He'll have to scheme, persuade, schmooze, campaign, and put on a show to win over this kingdom. He's a perfect guy in a perfectly tailored suit, unfortunately for everyone else, what you see is not what you get, especially with a man like Finn.
