Dumbledore’s eyes twinkled.
That was never a good sign, Harry thought wryly.
“I am pleased to introduce your new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor…” — Hermione sighed. Harry couldn’t help but agree; another year, another train wreck — “Professor Kakashi Hatake.”
The masked man with impossible silver hair inclined his head, and then promptly flopped down into his seat at the head table.
Hermione sighed again. “Do you think this one will be competent? Or, better yet, not a Death Eater in disguise?”
Ron laughed. “Oi, Lupin was good. Except for the whole, y’know…”
Fifth year, Harry thought. He couldn’t wait.

Sirius and Remus would have probably waited to adress the strange behaviour from Harry, IF they hadn't just found Harry standing frozen facing a plain empty random wall, on the very dangerous, warded off, third floor of Grimmauld Place.
Harry had been having some strange things happen to him after he arrived to Grimmauld Place, but one day, when he was reading a book on his bed in his and Ron's shared bedroom. He suddenly found himself on the third floor of Grimmauld Place, getting questioned by Remus and Sirius, with no memory on how he got up there when he was just on the second floor, in his bed, reading.
(PS. The bashing is just very slight bashing and the crack treated seriously is just for the first part of chapter 1.)

James is a bigoted prat and a terrible parent. Jules is self-absorbed, inconsiderate, and prattish, but maybe not as stuck in his ways as his father. Dumbledore is a manipulative chessmaster who views Harry as a tragic sacrificial pawn to better protect Jules. Snape is a bully and loathes Potters, but recognises Harry is different to his father and brother.
Harry is cold and quiet, hardened by years with the Dursleys - before the shocking reveal that his father isn’t dead, he just didn’t care enough to check up on him after he abandoned him (ostensibly to protect him). Sorted Slytherin, feuding with anti-Slytherin jock family members, he forges his own family from likeminded individuals and those with great potential. “You—” Rodolphus Lestrange took a deep inhale, nostrils flaring. “You’re my destined.” Rodolphus' lips trembled around the word. The Death Eaters inhaled sharply, and Harry swallowed, taking a deep breath and finding that the pureblood smelled heavenly. There was a hint of that natural musk every alpha had and tinges of Rodolphus’s scent, burgundy and sandalwood with a faint scent of something sweet. It took a moment for the smell to register and with a lurch, he realised it was the scent of treacle—his favourite dessert. He took in a deep breath. The scent was almost heady and made his abdomen give another cramp and he could feel himself being affected by it, could feel himself getting wet.
Neville took the prophecy out of Harry’s hand and pocketed it, watching Rodolphus for a long moment. Then he sighed, licking his lips. “Go on. He’s your destined. And alpha’s will do anything for their omega’s. Plus, Heir Lestrange is a single man so get your destined, god brother.”
