Miss Jay was sitting on her bed with a piece of fabric in one hand and a sewing needle in the other, grumbling to herself. Chip was laying back in his hammock in the corner of the room, and Gillion sat on the floor in front of it with a sketchbook in his hands. “Oh! Hi Ollie,” Gill said and looked up at him, his tail propping up his book.
“Hey kiddo, what brings you here?” Chip sat up a bit, turning to look at him.
“I…had a question. It’s not about being a pirate, but I felt like you might know the answer.”
“Shoot kid, we’re all ears.” Chip fully sat up, leaning his foot on Gillion’s shoulder and propping his head against his hand.
“What makes a girl a girl?” Chip’s eyebrows furrowed, and he looked at him strangely for a moment, glancing at both Gillion and Jay who also looked a bit surprised at his question.

He had sworn loyalty to her and the cause - the fight against the Navy. His body and mind trained to assist her and by extension, to protect his home, his family and his history. Captain Lizzie Lafayette expected full dedication to her fight and he willingly gave her his soul, catered to her whims and wants, fulfilled every test and conquered every challenge even if it was single-handedly keeping their boat afloat as his very essence ached from the strain.
He thinks, after that sort of devotion, he is allowed to find and use the loophole in his pledge to his advantage - his heart is allowed to belong somewhere else, find a home in someone else even if he cannot follow it out there.

The Feywild's time dilation means Gillion misses a lot of his nightly conch calls to Caspian so Caspian goes looking.

Summary
Gillion Tiderstrider, champion of the undersea, hero of the deep, and so on, was starting to feel a little bit out of place. While he isn’t entirely intune with human culture, he does know that those side looks he gets sometimes, or the people who make a big deal of him, like hes some form of entertainment for them, he knows that those people don't mean well. Gillion is very aware of the evils in the world, and he knows that evil people will have those opinions no matter what, but sometimes theres days where he feels so out of place he doesn't know what to do.

Summary
Perhaps one day Gillion could put it into words that do it justice. Instead, he casts his gaze to the sea. She is beautiful too, sunlight reflecting and sparkling back at him. He aches with the memories of her depths, of the sights hidden beneath the waves, and wonders dimly if Caspian misses her too. None of the rest of the crew could understand, except perhaps for Finn, but Gillion isn’t going to trouble his grandfather with such thoughts, and Caspian is a sea and then some away.
From where he is, standing by the railing, leaned over the side with the breeze and seaspray in his face, he almost thinks that it feels religious. The cold air hits him with the rise and fall of the ship on the waves and he swears that under his palms, the Albatross breathes.

Gillion had always been the Chosen One. The expectations were always heavy and many, but he could handle them with ease. He would achieve his Destiny and then more if the Goddesses deemed him worthy. But not even Fate's guiding hand stopped his wish to explore, whether it was the rest of the Undersea or a single city of the Oversea.
Both longed for things they didn't or couldn't have. But it would be the Chosen One's desire to be granted first.
