Summary
When the Wilding Princess is killed, the palace serving girl accused of her murder must impersonate her in the upcoming Centennial. Her success will mean her survival; the Queendom is lost if she fails.
A complete rewrite of Lightlark that's more of a reimagining at this point.
It got a bit out of hand. Sorry. Hope you enjoy :) -

✨️ I wrote this for fun ✨️
This is a retelling of Lightlark except with Groro and plot deviances 😌
Grimshaw Malvere of Nightshade accepts the invite to the Centennial with one goal in mind: refueling the relationship he had with his greatest peer the king, Oro of Lightlark, while Isla unknowingly puts on the perfect performance for Aurora's schemes. But as these games continue and tension grows, he is left to wonder if one day an end will come to these curses. All the while fighting his own budding feelings, as his affection towards cold, isolated Isla dwindles, and his curiosity in Oro grows.
(I don't know how often I will update but I will try to keep it consistent, and I would like to clarify that my writing style and smut do not go hand in hand at the edge of the sand. The tags may update as I write this so please keep an eye on those, and with that, I leave you!)

Summary
After the events of Lightlark, Isla Crown must move on- something that, despite all her scheming, she never really considered (mostly because she really didn’t think she’d live this long). With Oro at her side and a whole new set of powers, how much trouble can she really get into anyway? Spoiler- it’s a lot.
Post Lightlark canon divergence because the world needs more Oro/Isla and I have no self control -

Rewrite of Celeste getting poisoned!
You do not need to read my lightlark worldbuilding page to read this, but the very important cliffnotes from that are that
-no one is immortal in this universe
-the war with Nightshade happened post the curses, while Grimms mother was ruler (I've named her queen Vanna and her existence contradicts cannon). It only ended a handful of years ago.
-The war with Nightshade was mostly against starling and moonling for their territory
-I... don't know the details of Grimm and Isla's relationship in this universe but I think it's a lot more hostile bc of what he and his mother did to Cel's realm. It hasn't turned romantic, at least not on Isla's end, but she's sympathetic to him in ways she feels really guilty about.Title is from Champagne Problems by Taylor Swift because Aster talks about that being the theme song for Lightlark in her mind so I couldn't resist

Title is from Child of the Stars by Fish in a Birdcage!
This takes place in the version of the world of Lightlark from "Kelsie's Miscellaneous Lightlark Worldbuilding/Lore". The important things to know from that are that Nightshade invaded Starling to get its whaling territory and they've been at war for a while. Nobody is immortal in this universe, Nightshade is under Grimm's mom's rule but he's an important general.
Celeste knitting is one of the cannon details I actually really love and wanted to think about more! I forgot about it until I started rereading Lightlark.

Summary
Celeste Nebula is the teenaged Queen of Starling, struggling to lead her country through an invasion by Queen Vanna of Nightshade. Isla Crown is, theoretically, the Queen of Wildling, but is in fact a puppet ruler with very little freedom and two regents who are are actually in control of her country.
Okay so I know the word "regent" actually does mean someone who rules in a child ruler's stead, but Isla is old enough that the other rulers assume she's kind of co-ruling with her regents at this point and people definitely don't know that Poppy and Terra have total control of the country.
Cw child abuse, war, mentioned blackmail (the blackmail doesn't actually happen), kidnapping (the kidnapping doesn't actually happen).
I got Celeste's last name from Five Kisses by mossnrocks because she deserves a last name. I have some loose lore on this version of the world of Lightlark under the title "Kelsie's Mischellaneous Lightlark Worldbuilding/Lore".
Last but not least, the title is from Dear McCracken by Bug Hunter.

Summary
Isla Eden has never been kissed in her life. She barely has one friend, as the Wildings purposefully repress all emotions as much as possible to avoid the ancestral curse on their bloodlines. Now, summoned to Lightlark to participate in the centennial, the once a century event, Isla is surrounded by people who she cannot help but find beautiful.
Amidst the problems that the centennial has caused to rise, Isla is dealing with the horrible feelings that she has been trying so hard to repress.

Would make most sense with the context of the prior piece in this series. This is so far removed from the ideas that Lightlark brings up I wonder if it even counts as fanfiction anymore.Series

As part of a rewrite that I have a slight plan for, I rewrote a scene in which everyone meets the King of Lightlark-- who isn't the king they're expecting.

Summary
I rewrote the power demonstration scene in Lightlark. I didn't include the other rulers' demonstrations just because my central idea was to change Isla's, and the other ruler's demonstrations deserve like 8 pages (compared to the maybe 1 they get in cannon) and I didn't have energy for that.

Remember that one page when Isla considered that Ella might be evil and working against her?
I think Ella can pull off being an interesting and surprisingly morally complex antagonist more than Aurora can, so ... here we have it! Genuinely I like Ella a lot, witness her greatness <3Title and Chapter titles will be from Bad Guy by Set It Off
