Summary
AU of Captain America the First Avenger. Where Captain Steve Rogers is found in the ice after the conclusion of World War II, and reunites with Agent Peggy Carter. They kindle a relationship and go through numerous adventures together, and experience the ups and downs of life. Recurring characters like Howard Stark and the Howling Commandos. Prologue is linear to get the bearings of the story and quite cliche for the most part. I'll do my best to be accurate to the eras. Not Canon to Marvel Universe. Plenty of Steve/Peggy moments.

Even a super-soldier’s gotta sleep, pal. Bucky leans forward, and Steve can almost, almost, see the soft fan of his lashes, the shape of his mouth. You know you can't keep going like this. You’re in tailspin, buddy. Eventually, you’re gonna crash.
“I’m fine.” He says, because he too has gotten good at lying over the years.
Yeah. That’s what you are. You’re sitting here talking to ghosts like a nutjob ‘cause you’re fine.
In which Bucky falls off the train, and Steve spirals. Let it not be said that Steve Rogers ever did anything halfway.

It was one in the morning, and the streetlights were buzzing faintly, shining on unmoving air, casting shadows on the sidewalks and warm yellow brightness into the wall of buildings along the avenue. Chilly wind agitated the branches of a tree. A cat jumped from a shining car. Everything was quiet, except for the shuffling of papers and long-suffering sighs on the third floor of the SSR.
The lights were off, sharpening the bright squares over what would be an impeccable office if it weren’t for the one desk submerged by sheets of paper haphazardly laying around, mugshots of a beautiful black-haired woman, pencils over half-written notes and an SSR printed, sad, cooling coffee mug.
“Oh, Dottie, for fuck’s sake!”
Peggy slammed her hand on the desk. A pencil tinkled, and some sheets lazily fell on the tiled floor. -

Everyone's been on high alert since the Captain fell into a coma. All worries not only about the omega but also about the war. Steve is the only one strong enough to take down Hydra. Its the reason they have searched so hard for the doctor.
