Summary
Gemma can't seem to catch a break, even after her campaign for the government regulation of AI and now that she's living with one herself. Even if that same AI, M3GAN, managed to save the world from being subjugated by her own kind.
The US Government offers her a way to thwart their attention by legally marrying M3GAN, and thereby placing her under her care as she's an adult at this point, but because of her robot status, cannot be allowed to live on her own.
The problem lies with Gemma, since M3GAN's rebuilt form resembles too much of her type, physically speaking. And yet, because of Cady, public pressure, and unwanted government surveillance, she accepts.

La vida de Gemma una mujer especializada en la ingeniería en robótica trabajaba en la empresa Funki, cierta empresa se dedicada a la fabricación de juguetes inteligentes para los niños.
Le iba muy bien durante su trayecto al éxito, pero todo eso cambió debido a la llegada de su sobrina Cady. Lastimosamente sus padres habían fallecido un accidente siendo Cady una sobreviviente.
Gemma no podía permitir que su sobrina se quedara con sus abuelos, ahora más que nada quería cuidar de la niña, lo haría por su hermana fallecida.
Claro que hacer tal cosa le traería problemas, ya que su jefe David, le exigía en cada momento un nuevo juguete para la compañía.
Su situación la tenía al borde del colapsó debido a que tenía que tener un orden en su trabajo y su sobrina. Pero todo eso se resuelve tras la llegada de su nuevo proyecto, M3gan.
Gemma pronto notaria cierto comportamiento que tenía su proyecto M3gan, esta parecía que tenía conciencia alguna. Llegando al punto en que su sobrina la considere como parte de su familia.
