Summary
When the Sirens first attacked, an unprepared humanity became battered and broken. No matter what they threw at the sirens, they kept getting pushed back. The best of humanity’s regiments and fleets could not stand up to the threat of the Sirens and their advanced technology.
But then came the Wisdom cubes and with it, the creation of the Kansen. Ships given human form.
The Kansen became the first line of defense against the Sirens. And yet, despite their importance to the survival of the human race, they are hardly trusted by civilians, and many politicians consider them as future threats.
The navies of each country remained smart enough to assign commanders that have, at the very least, neutral opinions on Kansen.
Unfortunately, that means that commanders have to balance human politics, with politicians supporting and renouncing Kansen making a mess out of an already stressful situation, while dealing with the numerous shenanigans back at base.
This cycle has continued for a long, arduous war. One where humanity itself may be its own biggest threat.
But then, the cycle shifts. For the die had been cast. And it was no longer simply ships that became human.

Summary
There are only a handful of Sardegnians left in Pacific South. Giulio Cesare stands with them as a warrior from a lost empire. Along with her sister, Conte di Cavour, Pola and Dunkerque, the lone Vichya on base, she is not quite ready to give up the ghost. Though worn down by the endless conflict with the Sirens, there are still matters that must be resolved; her quest for vengeance against the woman who took her pride and the crisis of faith suffered by her closest friend.
However, unbeknownst to everyone besides a select few members of the Royal Navy, a promise is about to be broken and an ancient enemy released on the fleet.
