Summary
Okay so I got this idea in two parts: one was this really creepy childrens rhyme about the magpies and then one day the weather looked very sinister (y'know when a storm is coming) and in my head those two just went together and witches weather was born.
A year and a day after the attack on one of their own a coven of witches takes revenge on the attacker. Features a pretty intricate ritual, crows, a children's rhyme, and steadily worsening weather.
I really suck at summaries...

Edwin Payne has known many things, himself especially, but the one thing he cannot place is Charles Rowland. Specifically, why he likes him so much, in a way he doesn't know how to swallow down. It's like a pill caught in his throat and he can't quite get rid of it. He loves Charles like a brother he says, but brother doesn't cover it and he's scared to speak of anything else. Men do not behave like this, his father would say if he could see him now, but everything was just so different.
Yet what he cannot yet fathom is why this boy, a living one at that, that can very much see him, is sticking around.

Off she runs deep into the forest to escape his abusive clutches, a decision that will change her life forever as she literally stumbles into a fantasy fairytale world of magic, love and beauty that she had always dreamed of…except she soon comes to realize that not all of it is beautiful, but quite dark and that monsters are very, very real.
This fic is extremely DARK(you've been warned) and begins in 2022, joining the modern day world into middle earth of New Zealand....I have written Thranduil and all the characters and even the woodland and surrounding realms much differently than the books or movies so please do not expect it all to be as Tolkien wrote them. I have also added characters from other fandoms because I like variety and I feel it makes for a more unique story. Note that some of these added characters which are listed in the tags will not appear until later chapters.

The pines had grown strong and sturdy, a vast sea of evergreen needles towering like they’d slowly grown over the course of centuries rather than the few days they actually took to pop up, tree rings on the stumps recounting years that hadn’t existed. It was undeniably magic, a gift from Her that was obvious to anyone in the Commune, the way that despite its shade the forest never crawled with monsters the way that other forests would, the creatures of the night seeking refuge from the burning rays of the sun. But something was beginning to happen, trees shedding some of their needles in a way they’d never had in the arctic before, like the trees were going into shock from drought. It hadn’t affected the whole forest yet, not according to the crows, but whatever it was, Philza was determined not to let it infect the rest of the forest.
