When the hero is finally resurrected a hundred years later, he finds himself (surprise!) not alone in this world. Instead, he is accompanied by the spirit of the Hero of Twilight, who died tragically a few thousands of years back during the Era of Twilight, and has now returned to Hyrule as the divine servant of Hylia.
Now the guardian spirit has to guide the current hero to his destiny, something he is not too keen on doing.
The hero is not too fond of the idea of an annoying dog following him around either.
Short stories on the travels and interactions of two idiots: a Hero and a Guardian Spirit, who just so happens to be the spirit of the Hero of Twilight.
(Breath of the Wild (w TP references) set in a historical Japanese setting, with the Twilight Realm having a historical Chinese setting)-

"Wait!" I called out, surprised by the sound of my own voice. He stopped and turned. "Why?" I asked. "Why did you heal me?"
He said nothing, but simply turned again and left, his fairy following after him.
And the door shut, leaving me alone in a colorless world once more.

The woman frowned at me. "You look familiar," she said, her eyes narrowed.I felt a jolt of fear. If she figured out that I was Link's dark twin, she would know I was evil. "I think we met once, a long time ago," I said. "And thank you for freeing me, uh, I know your name, it's right on the tip of my tongue..."
"Impa," she said with a smile. "And who are you? But no, let us be gone from this dark place. We can speak more above."
"Yes," I said, relieved of the need to come up with a name on the spot. I had none, but of course I would need to call myself something if I were to move among the people of Hyrule. But what? I pondered it as I climbed the stairs behind Impa. I couldn't just call myself "Shadow" could I? Perhaps I could take a variation on Link's name, since I was his shadow. But no, I didn't want to remind Impa of him, she might put two and two together.
When we reached the top I still hadn't thought of anything good, so when Impa turned to me and said, "So, who are you, stranger?" all I could say was "I'm Dark."
"Dark? It suits your looks well enough, I suppose, but it's a bit of an odd name."
I had never thought about how I looked. Like Link, I knew that much, but obviously I was not his perfect twin. "Well I'm not from around here."
"How did you end up in Ganondorf's dungeon then?"

"There are many who would," said Impa solemnly. "But none will be able to. The seventh sage, the princess Zelda, has sent him home through time to live in peace."No! He could not have escaped my vengeance so easily! I tried to hide my dismay, and I must have succeeded in some small measure, for Impa didn't seem to notice. "Through time, you say?"
"Yes. Back to the past, though not to our past. His time will run differently from ours, now."
"Actually," said another voice, "I'm afraid it didn't work."
I looked over and saw two people approaching. One was obviously the one who had spoken, a young woman clad in pink and gold. Beside her... I had to school my face to avoid a snarl of hatred. Beside her walked Link himself.
"Zelda? What happened?" asked Impa.
Zelda, for this must be she, answered. "Nothing at all. I played the song, the spell was cast, but Link remained in the present. Something is tying him here. Some connection that I can't trace."
As she spoke Link's eyes had met mine. I saw recognition in them. He knew who I was. And more. I saw the realization spark in his eyes in the same instant it sparked in mine. Some connection tied him here. Something like his shadow, perhaps.
"Strange," said Impa.
"Yes. But who is this?" she asked.
"This is Dark," said Impa. "He was a prisoner in Ganondorf's tower."
Zelda nodded regally at me. I managed a civil enough nod in return.
"Well Dark, it seems you have the chance to thank Link for rescuing you after all," said Impa.
I blinked in surprise. Then I grinned savagely. Yes, I could thank Link for giving me the chance to find a way to kill him.

In an effort to equalize good and evil and minimize the latter in the world, the ancient people of Hyrule had only one idea: integrate the different realms’ young into one boarding school.
When the Demon King Demise spends a regrettable night with the Golden Goddess Farore, the last thing he expects is a half-demon, half-holy shapeshifting baby to show up on his front porch nine months later with one note attached:
I want him every other holiday.
Link knows his family is probably, kind of, definitely weird, but it’s not like you can just announce to Demise himself that you want to go to the Academy for Bad Monster Children to Learn Goodness, so Mama Farore calls in a favor with Hylia. What Link doesn’t know is that Hylia’s own daughter is the most insufferable, stuck-up snob and WHY is she in HIS room?

Summary
The Goddesses wrenched Link's life from him in choosing him as their Hero of Time. He has resented them every day since, growing into a body that doesn't match his mind, furious with the world that has forgotten him. When it all finally comes crashing down, he wishes more than anything that he could be somewhere else.
Ages later, a new Link is recovering from his own adventure, and the loss of someone he loved. At his side is a mysterious entity who has been with him his entire life—a shadow given form, an assumed hallucination turned best friend when the cloak of twilight proved he was real. The both of them are doing their best to adjust to a new life together when a relic from the past appears just outside Ordon, an unfamiliar face with an all-too-familiar presence.
To try and maintain the proper timeline, the Hero of Twilight is determined to assist the past version of his spectral mentor get back home. The real question is whether or not the Hero of Time is ready to return to the life he hates... and why only he lacks a shadow under his feet when Twilight is the one with a shadow personified.

Edit: I was told that my old summary was off-putting and didn't reflect the story, so I'm changing it.
This story takes place in a Hyrule Warriors-esc AU, incorporating more Zelda characters from games neglected by the Hyrule Warriors canon. It started off a little silly, but grew progressively darker as it went, especially after Link was captured by enemy forces.

Nine years after Link has saved Hyrule from the Twilight Crisis, the land has entered a time of relative peace. Ganondorf is dead, and aside from occasional trouble with rogue monsters or bandits, the citizens of Hyrule have little to fear.
That is until a dark stranger falls from the sky.
Tasked with guarding the oddly charming stranger on the back of a troubling prophecy Princess Zelda has discovered, Link must do what is necessary to keep Hyrule safe, even if the dangers are not immediately obvious.
But his own demons are coming back to haunt him as well...~~~~~~~

Summary
An unwilling pawn of Ganondorf awakens with a singular goal: stop the hero of prophecy. As he comes face to face with said hero, Link, his turbulent emotions and overthinking mind lead him to defying that singular goal. His new mission: exact revenge on his creator. Make him regret sealing him in a torturous curse.
Link and the so-called dark Link are quickly bonded, but it all threatens to unravel just as fast. Be that by the hands of fate, or due to scars that each has suffered. As lofty concepts like prophecy, fate, and the gods become all too real, the smaller moments seem to matter all that much more.
Will this legend manage to reach a blissful ending, or will all crumble to chaos, as it has once before?
