Impulse and Skizz had relatively good lives, as much of a good life you can have when you're mercenaries for hire. They made good enough money to have a constant roof over their heads, good food and drink, and good gear.
All in all, a pretty good existence.
And then the universe decided to throw a wrench in their peace by presented them with a broken, lonely, grieving child. And then another. Then another. And ANOTHER.
Pretty soon, they find themselves co-raising not one, not two, but SIX magical (and traumatized) children.
And yet, as time drudges on, they can't find themselves wishing for anything less.

Summary
Pearl opens here eyes, the fowl stench of fermented spider's eyes fills here nose. Her limbs feels so weak, and she know somebody must have hit her with a weakness potion. But who?
"Bdubs' the lad is awake." Someone says, entering the room, "Grab him and put him on the table."
Pearl watches with bleary eyes as a moss cover man comes forward and grabs the person on her left.
When here eyes finally clear, she realizes she is in some dark stone walled room. They must be below ground, because a wet chill is deep in the room's air.
The next thing she realizes is who is talking.
"-make sure he can't get away-"
"Ren?" Pearl says, "what's going on?"

When Pearl goes into Limited Life, she misses a week. She returns, and Gem is suspiciously quiet about it, but still the same. She’s still Gem.
Pearl desperately hopes Gem isn’t taken into the life series. They meet again, after Secret Life, and, well, they’ve both changed.

The dwarf frowns at him, a concerned pinch at the corner of his eyes as he reaches out. Scar goes crosseyed as he follows the other’s hand until it comes to a rest on his forehead. He feels a spark of concern.
“Your hands are really cold,” Scar says, brow furrowed. “Do you need gloves? I can make gloves.”
“No, Scar, you’re burning up,” Impulse says, withdrawing his hand slowly. “How long have you been feeling bad?”
“I dunno.” Scar shrugs, and feels the flowers beneath him shift with the motion. His eyelids droop. “I wasn’t really…paying attention.”

Summary
Behind the scenes, the Buttercups have been busy gathering materials for different preparations, mainly to retaliate against a certain Docm77. Of course, Grian isn’t an exception. He may not be like Mumbo Jumbo, who can easily construct a robot to match up against the goat man’s own, but he can still work his butt off to do something else.
Even if the winged man devotes himself to assisting his redstoner friend from behind the scenes, it still requires a lot of manpower and labour. Which means, he’s not immune to exhaustion.
What happens when Grian decides to skip rest and collect more materials instead? What happens when he flies from one place to another, ignoring fatigue?
And what’s that weird whooshing sound he keeps hearing every time he encounters a Hermit?
