After getting yourself involved, you realize the gravity of what the individuals that hired you wish to do, and you make the dangerous decision to attempt to rectify it, rescuing a young man and captured Lajackal who were intended to be your test subjects. Sometime after, you stumble upon your friend's wife and daughter, who were held hostage by Hinoeuman soldiers. You learn that your friend was arrested for the death of his family and the burning of his home and you manage to bribe the judge into giving him a life sentence instead of death, silently promising that you'll get him free from there. All the while you're being hunted by those you swindled.
Finally, five years after that flurry of events, you've found the prison where your best friend is being held, and with the help of his assistant, you set off to break him out…
