    What if Charles and Erik were a little bit older during World War II? What if the Charles and Erik from X-Men First Class met in 1940s Germany, in Auschwitz? What if their origin story started there?

    An adult Erik is captured by the Nazis and imprisoned at Auschwitz until an accident leads to Erik revealing his mutation. Erik is locked away inside the compound, experimented on by Herr Doktor, Klaus Schmidt. Schmidt wants to isolate the mutant gene and create the next generation in human evolution.

    Charles accepts an invitation to speak at a prominent university in Germany. Armed with optimism and naivety, Charles travels to Germany and winds up face-to-face with two Nazi soldiers, with orders to bring in the world's foremost expert in genetic mutation.
